Yesterday I called the nurse practitioner with some questions because we are still concerned about the induction and wanted to discuss options, etc. She set me up an appointment today with Dr. Greenhaw so we went and spoke to him, I was still only 2.5 cm and 60% and really posterior. He set me up an appointment for in the morning at 6:45 to go get a prostaglandin gel to help ripen me up so I am in the best condition for induction. They won't let me go (and highly don't recommend) going past 42 weeks which would be Friday and they don't do inductions on Fridays, so there is really no point in waiting when I already have an appointment on Monday. So hopefully the P-gel will stir things up and maybe I will have him this weekend, but I'm not counting on it. But, Monday at the latest (unless it takes forever, which I don't think it will) we will have our baby boy.... and while induction is highly disappointing and a little stressful, it is SUPER exciting to know our Trev will be here soon! So we are trying to keep a positive attitude and be happy about that, because that's the most important thing! I do feel much more comfortable having the P-gel to help get me ready for the induction. He said normally when your already 2 cm they wouldn't do one (hence, why Dr. Stoddard didn't) but because I'm still fairly thick, it couldn't hurt, so he called and they had an opening (THANKFULLY) so though I know it's going to be super uncomfy, It does bring me peace of mind! Thanks so much for all the love and support and understanding, we really appreciate it, it means more than you know!
I was induced with Auburn a week before her due date because I had some problems. I was only a dilated to a one at the time. I understand your concern, but it will all turn out just fine. Feel free to email me if you have any questions, although they do it a little different here in Germany. Good luck with the delivery! Can't wait to see pictures of your sweet little boy!
ReplyDeleteThanks! I am not so concerned anymore, I had a prostagladin gel yesterday to help ripen me up. I am already more dilated etc than I was when they induced with Bailey, and I had a blessing and feel better about it now. I had complications also, but mine came after she was born, but I don't think it will be an issue this time. I am so excited about your little boy too!! YAY!
